Storms of 2016

Houston: We have a solution.

Storms this Year

In 2016 there were 3 huge storms that hit our area of the United States. We had the hail storm in Wylie, TX. We had a massive flood in Louisiana. Lastly, we got hit at home in Houston by a terrible rain storm that lasted for many days. The hail storm in Wylie and the rain storm in Houston happened around the same time. Here at SERVPRO of Katy/Cypress and Champions 1960 we covered these storms and still managed to take care of our customers in Houston. Here is our story.

Here at SERVPRO we always care about our local clients and want to make sure that they are always taken care of. One way we do that is by answering our phone at any hour on any day. Another way we do that is SERVPRO franchises always help each other out. When a giant storm hits a certain area a SERVPRO franchise will send out a call to other franchises in other cities and states to make sure that everyone receives our services and gets helped. When Houston got hit we had over 950 phone calls in one night and we managed to handle every job because we had the assistance of SERVPRO’s from all over the nation. We truly are the feel of a small company with the power of a giant corporation.

When Wylie got hit with hail this was not your average sized hail. It was giant softballs coming through the roof and destroying the house. Then it rained for an entire week straight. Every house on every street was wet. We went in there and helped everyone we could. It was hectic and it was a mess. People couldn’t go to work because their cars were totaled. Water was in the walls of their houses. Everything was in disarray. We would finish a house and then it would rain that night and because the roofers hadn’t got there yet we would have to go back and do it all over again. When everything started to slow down just a tad we got the call the Houston was flooded.

Our office was flooded. My own house was flooded. Wylie was still a mess. It was a two-front battle. We split up into two groups and took care of everything. We dried Wylie and fixed everything we were working on. We fixed our office. We helped our local customers and got everything fixed. We handled every single job of those 950+ jobs because that is our business. We never close. We never stop. We will not stop till the job is like it was before. "Like it never even happened."
