Remembering a Hurricane's Aftermath
6/12/2018 (Permalink)
Hurricane are cyclonic with sustained winds of 74 mph or greater. These destructive storms can produce heavy rains, high winds, and flooding when they make land fall. Storms can form anywhere in the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean sea, or Gulf of Mexico. While hurricanes typically form from June 1st-November 31st, here at SERVPRO of Katy/Cypress, our staff are well prepared for this time of year. We take calls 24/7 in the event of an emergency. Hurricanes are a major threat to the Houston-Galveston region. Depending on the severity of the hurricane, it may become necessary to evacuate portions of Houston/Galveston area. Houston/Galveston council will work closely with the state and local jurisdiction to aid in planning of evacuations. Understanding what to look for, what you should do before, during and after a hurricane will make you more ready to deal with their effect. We urge our community to contact SERVPRO of Katy/Cypress for any questions or concerns. We would be happy to help support the people in the community, and insure that our community helps each other get through a Harvey like event.
