Remembering Hurricane Harvey
9/11/2018 (Permalink)
Hurricane Harvey has been the strongest hurricane to hit Texas in more than 50 years and has caused an estimated $180 billion in damages. It will require years to make a full recovery along the Gulf coast. Hurricane Harvey dumped feet of rain water over the course of several days in the Houston and Beaumont areas in August 2017. Harvey made land fall on August 26th near Rockport Texas as a category 4 storm. It circled back out to the coast and made a second land fall August 27th near Copano Bay, and slowly moved towards the Houston area. Harvey than moved back to the Gulf of Mexico and again made land fall on August 30th, just west of Cameron Louisiana. Hurricane Harvey killed 77 people and displaced more than one million people. Here at SERVPRO of Katy/Cypress our storm team is available to help 24/7.
