Hurricane Harvey and it’s damages, were mostly from flooding in the Houston and Beaumont areas. SERVPRO of Katy/Cypress's storm team were busy taking calls and making appointments to help people in need as a result of the storm. Cedar Bayou in the Houston area set a record with 51.88 inches of water. The damages of the homes were estimated around $200,000 - $300,000 for a mile stretch of the Gulf coast. Declarations of disaster for Texas and Louisiana were issued by FEMA, that covered 41 Texas counties and some in Louisiana. There was a 89 billion dollars relief bill for Hurricane Harvey that was also passed by congress in February. Hurricane Harvey struck the coast of Texas one year ago destroying homes and entire streets while turning lives upside down. Hurricane Harvey caused more damages than any other natural disaster in U.S history. Hurricane season starts June 1st and ends November 30th. SERVPRO of Katy/Cypress are well prepared when or if it happens again.
