House Fire Safety

According to a yearly statistic, 6,500 people die and 280,000 are injured in house fires each year. This is mostly due to smoke inhalation. Many of those death could possibly be avoided by prep and having a safety plan set up with family or roommates. If you think you might have the chances on your side, you would be wrong. According to the same study; during the lifetime of an average household, chances are 2 to 1 that there will be an accidental fire. First, one must understand what they call the fire triangle. The fire triangle is the three things that a fire needs to grow and spread, heat, oxygen and fuel. If one of these components is missing, a fire can’t ignite. People are most likely to die or be injuries in a house fire when there are no smoke alarms. Having multiple smoke alarms, and having them checked regularly could significantly increase your chances of survival. SERVPRO of Katy/Cypress staff and crews are repeatedly trained in this field. We work with fire departments in our neighborhoods to try and lower that percentages of house fires in our awesome communities. Please contact us here at SERVPRO of Katy/Cypress for any concerns about this subject. We would be more than happy to assist.
